Although the focus of iDfp has been the financial services and planning industry the solution applies to any business that has products or services on offer and with that clients to manage. The technologies that underpin iDfp were so chosen because not only had Opal worked with them for many years but that at least one of the technologies are used by 19 out of the top 20 financial services companies in the world.

However what Opal recognised was that in order to make these technologies available to everyone within an organisation, whether that company be a one-man operation or a large multinational, then having the best technology is not enough, what was also required were both the business skills to utilise this functionality and the technical knowledge to use the tools. It was for this reason that iDfp was born to meet the demand from the numerous requests that we receive; to provide a secure, efficient and effective environment where people of different needs and skill levels could operate and if possible, exceed their own goals and ambitions.

IBM have just released Sameplace V7.5 that will enable iDfp to extend the Virtual Office functionality to incorporate more Instant Messaging(IM) and Web Conferencing capabilities

iDfp clients have up until now used Skype for instant messaging and GoToMeeting for instant communication with the team at iDfp and with their own clients, but now an iDfp user will be able to invite a client into their virtual office to review paperwork and conduct all aspects of business without the client needing to come to the office and at a time that is at their convenience.
